The heat is on in the US right now. The economy is recovering slowly and heat waves seem to be crashing all over the country faster than BP can pump oil into the Gulf. If you or someone you know is going through alternative cancer treatment here are 5 ideas to take along this summer:
- Fruits and Veggies – Summer time brings plentiful fruits and vegetables to help fight cancer and improve recovery from aggressive treatments. Take a look at red grapes but try to eat them seperately from other foods for the most benefit.
- Avoid Sugar, Coffee, and Alcohol – Hopefully alcohol is already off your list but cutting back on sugar and coffee can be equally as helpful. These three items might help you get through your day in a very short term way but in the long run they only help to make you more sick.
- Minimize Sun Exposure – If you have any areas being treated for skin cancer be extra careful to protect them from the sun. Also limit exposure from 10am to 4pm and wear plenty of sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 or more.
- Heat and dehydration – I live in Phoenix where its supposed to hit 115 the day after tomorrow. My constant companion is my water bottle and I am either drinking from it or filling it up. Cancer treatments can lead to dehydration and vomiting making it even more important to stay well hydrated in the summer months.
- Time to get Physical – Summer is a good time to look at an exercise program to help rehabiliate your body from any treatments. Be sure to talk with your doctor about what activities are safe for you and remember to make it fun.
Remember that cancer is not a death sentence and that you don’t have to live in pain with it either. Find a holistic practitioner and get more ideas on how to cure yourself and stay cured. You can beat this.
